During the time that my regular job was looking for grants, I worked with a travel agency. The agency enjoyed my job performance and every three years they would respond positively of my request for extra work the last time I asked for hours, there was no response. I had no alternative but to except another job. The new job was painful and overwhelming but I never thought about holding a grudge against the person who failed to call me. I moved on. Years later when the travel agency’s hiring manager passed, his spirit appeared with an apology for not returning my call. I never did forget this experience.
